I'm a Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication at William Paterson University where I've taught film for 30 years.
I earned my MFA from New York University's Graduate Film Program, where I studied under Spike Lee and Julie Taymor.
My first feature film, "Asbury Park," received the Gordon Parks Award for Directing and premiered at Lincoln Center. My second feature, "Bellclair Times," won the Newark Black Film Festival.
My recent work includes the nationally accredited Continuing Legal Education (CLE) webinar, "Preparing Vulnerable Witnesses for Testimony," which inspired my Telly Award-winning film, "To Be Heard: Preparing Survivors of Domestic Violence for Testimony." In 2025, I was named a Finalist for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship for my feature screenplay, "The Twelve."
For more than 20 years, I've also served as a Pro Bono attorney representing survivors of domestic violence. In 2022, I received the "Partner In Hope" Award in recognition of my advocacy inside and outside the courtroom.
